With playable Koopalings, "Mario Kart 8" comes to Wii U on May 30

The next game in the popular racing series Nintendo, "Mario Kart 8", will be released for the Wii U on May 30.

The revelation was made late on Thursday (13) during transmission Direct. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata also confirmed the presence of multiple playable characters rookies in the series: the Koopalings.

Along with series veterans such as Mario and Donkey Kong, the Iggy, Larry, Ludwig, Morton, Roy and Wendy villains may be selected to compete in races in the game. This brings the number of confirmed playable appearances to 24.

Exclusive to the Wii U, "Mario Kart 8" will be the first game in the classic series with high definition graphics. One of its main innovations is the inclusion of tracks with loops and other elements that make antigravity vehicles activate their ways to run upside down.
