The PlayStation version 4 of "Call of Duty: Ghosts" will receive an update on the day of its release which will raise the native resolution of your campaign mode. No downloading, it will run at 720p, 1080p versus post-patch.
The information was revealed by Activision to Eurogamer, after a test of the Digital Foundry accused the disc version of the game running at 1080p PS4 was only in its multiplayer mode.
"'Call of Duty: Ghosts' runs at a native resolution of 1080p on PlayStation 4," said a representative of the producer. "There was a configuration error in the disk version. This has been fixed with an update that will be available on launch day."
One version of the Xbox game runs at 720p in both modes.
Successful franchise
According to Bobby Kotick, "'Call of Duty' is by far the largest franchise for consoles of this generation." The executive reinforced this idea citing the success of the previous title in the series: "In the last 12 months, 'Black Ops II', including their digital content, has generated more revenue than any other game has managed in a single year."
"Ghosts" is now available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC. By the end of the month, he also will debut for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, following the release dates of the two next-generation consoles.
