Virtual reality glasses from Sony, Morpheus impresses by immersion

Apresentado na GDC, Project Morpheus é o codinome do visor de realidade virtual do PS4

He is a little clumsy, leaves you with a kind of weird -looking - a bizarre mixture of Robocop with Daft Punk - but if a PlayStation 4 is in your plans , you 'll probably want to have one of these at home : the UOL Jogos tested Project Morpheus , Sony invested that this trend of virtual reality and first impressions were quite encouraging.
Announced at the Game Developers Conference 2014 in San Francisco , Morpheus arrived full of hype : the passwords to test the accessory sold out ten minutes after the opening of the exhibition hall , but those who , like me, faced two hours of queue , had enough to secure them luck.
I had the opportunity to test the latest version of the Oculus Rift , currently in Dev Kit 2 , and now Project Morpheus , and I am convinced that virtual reality has finally come to the point of dwelling households and mainly innovating the landscape of entertainment e - not to mention other sectors , such as training and education .

Immersion Morpheus

My first experience with Morpheus was with the demo " The Deep " , made by the Sony Studios in London . The skin of a diver trapped in those cages and armed with a pistol that fired harmless flags via DualShock 4 , I was taken to the sea , a beautiful promenade surrounded by fish fleeing when the flag was raised.
Everything was going well until , of course , a shark began to circle the cage . Imagine looking sideways and upwards , just watching the sharks surround him - something like those so popular in aquariums worldwide huge tanks . Thus, as one would imagine, the shark started attacking the cage , and this time , it was impossible not to lean back , half stunned by the reaction itself, watching very closely the huge open mouth of the creature .

Scares aside, the ocean of " The Deep " is gorgeous , numerous shoals , reefs and that effect typical of light rays running through the water and getting increasingly overshadowed as the cage descended ocean below .
" The Castle " , another demonstration, this less " cosmetic " , was played with the PS Move , in a medieval setting , allowing invest with sword blows one of those " dummies " training and then shoot at targets with a crossbow - until a dragon appears, so to speak , quit the demo in a somewhat dramatic .
This statement , however, showed that there is still calibration for the motion sensor Morpheus : While I could see my arms and hands , which replicated in the simulation - or at least tried to - the same motions with the Move , the slashings were always clumsy , as if they were arms of a mannequin .
But anything that is not prescribed in a demonstration of a product under development . Especially considering that Morpheus will not be released before 2015 and even has defined price or other details .
